Daschner Bin Liner™ for Pyxis® Minidrawer™, 12 Pocket (17305)

We've expanded our Daschner Bin Liners product line to include liners for more popular Pyxis® drawers. Liners are now available for Pyxis MiniDrawers™, used in a variety of Pyxis's automated medication dispensing systems.

Pyxis MiniDrawers maximize access, control and efficiency of the medication distribution process and the use of bin liners (DBLs) in conjunction with them is just another way to enhance safety. Bin Liners provide a more consistent, efficient, and convenient method of maintaining clean MiniDrawers.

It was found that dirty "traditional drug medication bins" could also harbor potentially harmful microorganisms. As such they may become sites for the transmission of nosocomial infections. During the day to day use of medication drawers invariably they may become dirty or soiled like traditional medication bins. Underestimated is the interaction of patient care personnel with these drawers. In the course of providing treatment to patients, cross contact with critical patient care items could lead to the incorporation of potential harmful microorganisms that may cause nosocomial infections. At best a medication drawer may receive a simple cleaning. And though this cleaning may remove dirt and some microorganisms, it is not very efficient, and in most cases doesn't completely eliminate them. Lack of adequate cleaning, however, does not hinder the use of the MiniDrawer as a container for medication or patient care equipment. More extensive cleaning is time consuming and causes disruption to system use.

Where Mini Drawers are used, Daschner Bin Liners keep drawers clean and minimize the risk of nosocomial infections when medication and other patient care supplies are transferred from drawers to patients.
