Unit Dose Starter Kits offer an inexpensive solution for users just getting started or those who are looking for a dependable and economical manual alternative to their existing mechanical packaging system for short runs and during downtime for maintenance and repairs. HCL offers three choices of Unit Dose Starter Kits:

• Computer Label Unit Dose Kit, High Barrier Blisters and Labels

These kits come complete with all the components necessary to get you started in the extemporaneous packaging of oral solids. Labels can be printed with text and a bar code using a pre-defined template included with our #5117 Bar Code Software for Unit Dose Labels. No label creation or setup is needed, all you do is open the template, type information on the label and print. Instructions for printing text only using Microsoft® Word are available at no extra cost.

This Round Extra High-Barrier Blister Starter Kit is a sampler of all colors! Whether you want to try round blisters or would like to purchase a combination of colors in small quantities, this kit meets your needs!

Not all rectangular cavities are suited for round medications! Our round cavity blisters conform to many round prescription and over-the-counter medications and offer a better fit and protection. They are made of a plastic laminate designed to meet the latest USP packaging requirements. This PVCd laminate provides the maximum in drug protection up to one year. Blisters are also available in Amber and Blue to provide color differentiation and coding. Use of different colors is a great way to implement a system for fast movers, higher alert medications, type, use, and more. Amber and Green blister meet USP requirements for protection of light sensitive medication. Blue blisters do not contain UV light protection. Blisters are recommended for maximum protection to a drug product or when packaging drugs for extended periods of time or environmentally sensitive drug products.

Package more in less time! The 4 x 6 grid sheet allows filling of 24 blisters at one time and an entire sheet of 24 labels to be placed over the grid to create a quick step process.

Round Cavity Extra High Barrier Foil Labels are designed specifically for use with these blisters to provide the sealing to achieve one year drug protection. Labels are available in laser format. The combination of the blister and the proper label affords the highest in moisture barrier protection properties - and meets USP Class A package requirements, which is a one-year expiration date of packaging.

Blisters stack and nest when empty to minimize storage space. Nesting rings allow easy separation of blisters.
